Parador is „Best of Best“
Coesfeld, 7th August 2019 – The flooring specialist Parador currently has two reasons to be happy: The Open Frameworks Design Edition by Hadi Teherani has now won both the Iconic Award 2019: Innovative Architecture from the German Design Council and the European Product Design Award.
With the Open Frameworks Design Edition, which was developed in collaboration with Hamburg star architect Hadi Teherani, Parador last year presented a unique engineered wood flooring and laminate flooring collection that redefines innovative design on the floor. The Open Frameworks Design Edition combines different shapes and colours to create a completely new approach to floor design, the creative boundaries of which reach into infinity: The plank elements of the engineered wood flooring and laminate flooring range can be combined in a wide variety of ways and create space for almost unlimited design possibilities. Now the edition has once again been honoured with two important awards.
As an outstanding submission in its product category, the Open Frameworks Design Edition by Hadi Teherani received the "Best of Best" award at the Iconic Award 2019: Innovative Architecture, awarded by the German Design Council.
As one of the world's most important competence centres for design and architecture, the German Design Council acts at the interface between designers and the construction industry. With the ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Architecture, the German Design Council has established a neutral, international architecture and design competition that, for the first time, takes the disciplines into account in their interaction. Awards will be presented to visionary buildings, innovative products and sustainable communication from all sectors of architecture, the construction and real estate industries and the manufacturing industry.
In addition, the Open Frameworks Design Edition by Hadi Teherani received the European Product Design Award in Gold in the Home Interior Products category, which has now been awarded for the third time.
The European Product Design Award recognises the efforts of talented designers and design teams to improve daily life with practical and beautiful creations designed to solve a problem, make life easier or simply spread joy. The Farmani Group created the European Product Design Award to draw attention to international product design and present the award-winning designers to a prominent audience across Europe. Founded in 1985, the group organises numerous internationally renowned design and art awards.
Birgit Kunth, Head of Marketing and Communication at Parador, is delighted with the awards: "Open Frameworks, in collaboration with Hadi Teherani, is a design edition that is unique in terms of design and innovation and breaks new ground. We are proud to have created something truly new. With these two new awards, Parador underlines its outstanding position as a leading design brand in the flooring design sector".
The oak floorboards of the engineered wood flooring of the Design Edition in three colours and four formats result in a new variety of design possibilities, as they can be combined with each other as desired. The wealth of variants is extended by the so-called "links", which were specially conceived for the engineered wood flooring edition: These design elements in four sizes and six colours lead the combination possibilities to infinity. The contrasting colours of the links in particular give rise to completely new design aspects that stage the trend theme of colour for the floor.
The laminate floorboards of the Design Edition are based on the tension between original and interpretation: Classic flooring materials such as terrazzo, travertine, wood and stone are interpreted in a contemporary way. The edition plays with colours and materials and makes use of the diverse design possibilities offered by laminate flooring. In this way, decors are created in a dialogue between imitation and authenticity.
For this innovative design approach, the Open Frameworks design Edition by Hadi Teherani has already received several awards, including the red dot Award for product design and the German Design Award.
Parador has been cooperating with renowned designers for several years. In addition to Hadi Teherani, who has already developed a collection for Parador for the second time, other outstanding personalities of the international design scene such as Alfredo Häberli, Matteo Thun, Karim Rashid and Zaha Hadid have already created floors for the Coesfeld premium manufacturer.
