New logistics centre in Coesfeld
Coesfeld, January 2023 – Parador holds groundbreaking ceremony for the new logistics centre in Coesfeld, thus sending a clear signal for more efficiency and sustainability at the site.
Here we go!
On 25 January the time had come: at 11.00 a.m. the ground was broken for the new Parador logistics centre at the Coesfeld site. A new 30,000 m² building with a capacity for up to 30,000 pallets and sufficient space for operational activities is being built on the area between the B474 and Millenkamp.
After an intensive planning phase with stakeholders from all areas and in close coordination with the town of Coesfeld, the course has been set for a successful execution of the project. The construction and service company, Goldbeck from Münster, was commissioned for the concept and integrated planning.
"We are pleased that we were able to take into account the interests of all project partners and are happy to now start the implementation," says Stefan Kükenhöhner, Managing Director at Parador, looking positively at the coming months. Completion of the logistics centre is planned for spring 2024.
In order to keep to this tight schedule, an experienced partner is needed, which Parador has found in Goldbeck. "After more than a year of constructive discussions and intensive preliminary work, we are very pleased to be able to put a sustainable and energy-efficient logistics centre into effect for Parador," explains Christian Terwey, Head of Goldbeck's Münster subsidiary.
Efficiency, sustainability and the strengthening of the Coesfeld site are the most important arguments for the construction of Parador's new logistics centre. With the new construction and the associated centralisation of the warehouses, Parador is increasing the overall efficiency of its logistics operations and becoming significantly more flexible. The Parador external warehouses in the surrounding area can be abandoned, eliminating around 33% of the previous transport runs.
The theme of sustainability is further supported by greening the façade and a comprehensive planting plan for the premises. The installation of a PV system on the 30,000 m² roof area is also planned. The energy generated there will be used for the company's own consumption at the Coesfeld site. In this way, Parador is reinforcing its CO2-neutral production at the Coesfeld site.
