Sustainability

Setting standards. Living responsibility.

Whether it's resource conservation or climate change, it's more important than ever to consider human activity in conjunction with our environment. As a premium brand, we know this - and very consciously assume responsibility in all the essential areas with which our products come into contact during their life cycle.

In everything we do, in our products or initiatives, we think in a networked way and take a holistic approach. We pay attention to interactions. To how we interact with each other and with the things around us. Inside and outside.

It is also a matter of course for us to think holistically when selecting our materials, our cooperation partners or when dealing with our own employees. This is also because we take the issue of healthy living seriously in all its dimensions.

From our supply chains to our working conditions to our local customers, we are continuously making sustainable improvements.

For all that stands:

Our values

For us, valuable living also means assuming responsibility for the social and ecological effects of our actions - from the extraction of raw materials, the production conditions at the sites, the
influence of the products on residential health to the recycling of the products at the end of their life cycle. From this understanding, we have developed our value wheel and our integrated quality and environmental policy.

Parador reports according to GRI and DNK standards

For the 2022 business year, we have prepared a sustainability report for the first time that takes into account both GRI and DNK standards. In this way, we create comparability and transparency with regard to our sustainability performance and underline our attitude of living and implementing responsibility for our society. The aim is to present the company's sustainability information in accordance with this globally recognised, uniform key in the future and thus significantly develop our sustainability communication.

The Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) promotes sustainability reporting by organisations worldwide. To this end, it has developed a standard and guidelines with the aim of creating a sustainable global economy in which organisations can responsibly manage and transparently report on their economic, environmental and social performance and impacts.

The German Sustainability Code (DNK) is another internationally highly respected and applicable reporting standard for sustainability aspects to which we are committed. The DNK describes minimum requirements for reporting on non-financial performance of companies. It is managed by the office of the German Council for Sustainable Development, which works on behalf of the German government. We were the first company in the flooring industry to produce a DNK report as early as 2021.
